Foundation Directors

 

BRUCE STEVENSON - CHAIRMAN

Bruce was appointed to the Hawthorn Football Club's Board in 2013. He is a 1971 Premiership player, a Life Member of the Club and has been Director of the Hawthorn Football Club Foundation since 2010.

In business, Bruce owned and operated Stevenson Automotive from 1989 to 2011. This company operated Toyota and Audi Motor Dealerships across Tasmania. He is also a former Chairman and Foundation Director of the Tastel Community Telco. 

 

PETER MACKENZIE

Peter is co-founder, Chairman and Managing Director of Embracia, a leading aged-care business. Peter, together with his wife Dawn, has owned and operated Embracia for 25 years, establishing it as an innovator in aged care through its philosophy and standards of care.

Peter is deeply committed to the aged care industry holding key positions within industry associations.

 

DOUGLAS BATTERSBY

Doug is a petroleum geologist with over forty years technical and managerial experience in the Australian and International oil and gas industry. He co-founded three publicly listed and two private petroleum exploration companies and is currently the Chairman of Byron Energy Limited, a publicly listed Australian company engaged in the exploration and production of oil and gas offshore.

Doug holds a Master of Science degree in Petroleum Geology from Melbourne University. 

 

CHRIS VOIGT

Chris is an Executive Director with JB Were and has over 27 years experience in the financial services sector. Chris was previously a Partner with Goldman Sachs JB Were, State Manager of Victoria and Co- Head of their National Private Wealth Management business. Chris holds a Bachelor of Economics, is a member of the Stockbrokers Association of Australia and a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute Of Australia.

Chris represented Hawthorn in the under 19's and his father, Noel, played 84 senior games for Hawthorn between 1954- 1960.

 

SCOTT PATTERSON

Scott has been involved in the Melbourne residential real estate industry for the past 25 years. He is one of Victoria's leading Auctioneers and is currently a Director of prestige property specialists, Kay & Burton, based in Hawthorn.

Scott's love for Hawthorn and synergy with the suburb goes back a long way as both his Grandfather and Great Grandfather were former Mayor's of Hawthorn.

Scott joins the Foundation Board in 2015 at a very exciting time in the Club's history.

 

GEOFF SAMMONS

Geoff has over 44 years experience in the motor industry, both from a retail and a wholesale perspective. He was Dealer Principal at Ringwood Mazda for 18 years, Chairman of State and National dealer association for three years and a long-serving member of the dealer comparison group.

Geoff is currently involved in both overseas and domestic development and investment and has also joined the Foundation Board in 2015.

 

GERALDINE FARRELL

Gerry is currently an operations executive, general counsel and company secretary for a NASDAQ listed animal health company in the biotechnology sector.

She has significant experience as an intellectual property and commercial lawyer, commercialisation strategist and board member.

Prior to her current role, Gerry had almost 19 years experience as a senior lawyer in private practice, working across many sectors including biotechnology and pharmaceutical, mining, clean technology and software/ICT.
