The Club > History > Debut order
The Debut Tie was introduced in 2002 when the HFC honoured all players who had played at least one senior VFL/AFL game with a special numbered Club Tie that recorded their debut order.
The number one tie was presented to the family of Jim Jackson, Hawthorn’s first VFL captain. He led the team out onto Glenferrie for the first game in VFL ranks in 1925. At the end of season 2009, 860 players have represented the Brown and Gold.
