Wheelchair Basketball superstar Tomas Klein has signed with Hawthorn ahead of the upcoming Victorian Wheelchair Football League (VWFL) season.

Klein joins fellow wheelchair basketballer Brady Cochrane as the latest additions to Hawthorn’s list, with Hayden Auber, Jo Argaet, Yassin Hill and Finn Broadbent rounding out the squad so far.

Klein currently plays wheelchair basketball professionally in France and has competed at the 2022 U23 Basketball World Championships in Phuket.

The 22-year-old has also represented his state and country in a host of Junior World Championship tournaments and competed in National Championships in Wheelchair Rugby.

Before this, Klein spent a large part of his childhood in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Once he came to Australia with his father, he competed in triathlons, highlighting his versatility as an athlete.

Klein and the Hawks will begin their VWFL campaign on Sunday 7 May, 2pm at Boorondara Sports Complex against Richmond.
