Hawthorn forward Greta Bodey has been voted in by the Hawks fans and members as MVP for the first time this season.

The 28-year-old starred in a match-winning performance at Kinetic Stadium in the club's eight-point win over Port Adelaide, kicking a career-high four goals.

She backed that up with 13 disposals, five tackles and four score involvements in a scintillating display.

Speaking to the media post-game, Bodey gave an insight into how much work she has done behind the scenes to play a career-best game.

"I've been doing a lot of work off the field and it hasn't really been clicking yet so to get some reward for effort this week has been really special," Bodey said.

The Hawks forward has now kicked nine goals for the season, sitting one major behind the club's leading goalkicker Aine McDonagh.

Bodey has also averaged 8.7 disposals and 4.6 tackles from her nine Hawks appearances so far.
