Sam Mitchell has the reputation of being one of the most reliable Dream Team players, and was living up to that reputation in the early part of the season, notching scores of 130 and 121 in the opening two rounds of the home-and-away season.

Of the nine matches he has played so far this season, Mitchell has scored 100 points or more on six occasions. Uncharacteristically, however, the Hawks midfielder has failed to crack the ton for two consecutive weeks.

Despite the Hawks playing arguably their best game of the season against Fremantle at Aurora Stadium in Round 8, Mitchell was quiet by his lofty expectations. He was quiet in Dream Team too, accumulating just 73 points for coaches.

He improved against the Tigers last week though, but not by much.
Mitchell’s influence on the game was nullified by the Tigers’ midfield, but despite gathering just 22 possessions for the match, he managed to accumulate a serviceable 83 points for his 51,251 Dream Team coaches.

His average over the opening nine rounds sits at 100.89, but an average of just 88.3 in his last three games. That means, that his price has dropped in recent weeks, and given his reputation as a Dream Team star, he is sure to bounce back and this is the right time to trade him in.

Mitchell’s starting price at the beginning of the season was a massive $554,000 - but since then, he has dropped by $109,200. That means, that at just $444,800 he is ripe for the taking. It isn’t often coaches can snag a premium midfielder like Mitchell for under $450,000, so don’t miss this opportunity before his price inevitably rises once more.

Round 10 spotlight

Bradley Hill ($98,700) - The Hawks recruit will play his second match for the brown and gold against North Melbourne on Saturday, with Coach Alastair Clarkson looking to inject some speed into his lineup. Hill could be a good downgrade option if you’re looking to make some cash.

Luke Breust ($334,600) - Breust was again one of the Hawks’ best in the loss to the Tigers, and that on-field form has translated to some good Dream Team output as well. In the last three rounds, Breust has averaged 86.7 Dream Team points to take his season average to 71.62. He is owned by just 3,259 coaches.

Shaun Burgoyne ($318,200) - Burgoyne enjoyed some time in the midfield last week, as the Hawks looked for a bigger impact around the stoppages. He responded, by gathering 26 disposals and five clearances. That effort translated to a modest 86 Dream Team points and a valuable contribution to the overall score of his 27,491 coaches.
