One of the most popular spots in the museum is the TV viewing area where visitors can be found all hours of the day soaking up the Club’s rich history in the form of milestone games, past premierships and player interviews.

This area is home to the membership card collection, which is continuous from 1924 to present day and the chair presented to former Club President J W Kennon in 1924.

This chair was part of the Board Room furniture at Glenferrie and was used by successive Presidents until the Club moved to Waverley Park in 2006, when it was then presented to the Museum.

It is one of the oldest items in the Club collection.

Another attraction that many visitors find hard to resist is to have their photo taken sitting in front of a figurine of the ever-popular Shane Crawford, which stands between the TV and the Confreres cabinet.

Due to the popularity of the exhibit for the 70th anniversary of the Hawk held last year, this exhibit has been refreshed and enlarged with all sorts of Hawk related memorabilia.  It is housed in the cabinet the Confreres kindly donated to the Museum in 1994 for display purposes at Glenferrie.

The main feature wall in the TV area has received a coat of paint and features a cross section of memorabilia.

The museum has delved into its archive of supporter pennants, with a range of these being displayed for the first time.  Also to be seen are a number of Hawk-inspired number plates and the Linda Crescent street sign.

Other historical items now on display in the TV area are:

  • Miles Sellers five-year service certificate presented in 1929
  • A large photo of Michael Tuck’s 350th game banner
  • Hawthorn Football Club Cricketers Premiership team for season 1932-1933
