Hawks fans can predict what will happen on the field to win a money-can’t-buy experience through new club developed app ‘Hawks CALL IT’, which was launched today.

The first of its kind in the AFL, ‘Hawks CALL IT’ is free to download on Android and Apple mobile devices.

The match prediction game, which is simpler than fantasy football but more brown and gold than tipping, is a concept created in conjunction with Reactive Digital Agency.

CEO Stuart Fox said Hawthorn prides itself on being innovative both on and off the field.

"The Club, in conjunction with former Board Director Geoff Harris, has established an annual innovation fund open for all staff to submit applications," Fox said.

“Hawks CALL IT is one of several projects to be sponsored in the inaugural year of the fund, and is an outstanding example of the importance Hawthorn Football Club places on innovation and constant improvement.

“As the first of its kind, Hawks CALL IT provides fans with an opportunity to be involved in the game in a new and exciting way,” he said.

The game is simple and quick to use, asking fans every Thursday from 6.30pm to “make their call” on three yes/no questions relating to the upcoming Hawks match.

Thirty minutes after the match, results will be populated that will rank participants on a leaderboard.

At the end of the Hawks 2014 season, the top three placegetters will win exciting prizes such as a VIP experience at the Peter Crimmins Medal, a footy signed by Alastair Clarkson and Luke Hodge, and a team-signed guernsey.

Fans who “call it” can compete for bragging rights against their mates and share their involvement on social media channels.
