HAWTHORN’s affiliate Box Hill will be hoping to achieve back-to-back premierships in the VFL on Sunday when they take on Footscray in the Grand Final at Etihad Stadium.

The Hawks won their way into the decider by causing an upset in the Qualifying Final against minor premiers Port Melbourne before withstanding a last quarter charge from Williamstown in last Sunday’s Preliminary Final, eventually running out seven-point winners.

After finishing second on the ladder, Footscray qualified for the grand final with victories over Williamstown and Port Melbourne in the Qualifying and Preliminary Finals.

In fact, the Bulldogs lost just four games for the season, one of which was to Box Hill by just seven points.

The Hawks are the last team to have beaten them.

The Club is encouraging all fans to get down to Etihad Stadium on Sunday to support some of the team’s young brigade, as well as those who have pushed hard all year to make an impact in the senior side.

Players in action include J. J Liston Trophy winners Alex Woodward and Mitch Hallahan as well as players like Billy Hartung, Luke Lowden, Sam Grimley, James Sicily and Kyle Cheney.

Box Hill finished in fourth position on the VFL ladder with 13 wins, four losses and a draw.
