Hawthorn Football Club has secured second round pick, number 31 in exchange for Kyle Cheney and Luke Lowden as the duo depart for Adelaide.

Part of the deal also includes the shuffling of some later draft picks, in which Hawthorn receives picks 50 and 68, while trading selections 43, 47 and 59 to the Crows.

Cheney played 27 games for the Hawks (41 AFL games in total) since he was traded in to the Club at the end of 2010, while Lowden has managed only one game (Round 12, 2014) in his six years at Hawthorn.

Recruiting and List Manager Graham Wright thanked Cheney and Lowden for their service to the Club.

“We wish both Kyle and Luke well for the next chapter of their AFL careers,” he said.

“We’re pleased to have secured a second round draft pick for the upcoming AFL draft,” Wright said.
