Hawthorn skipper Luke Hodge was voted best afield by both coaches in Sunday afternoon’s clash with the Western Bulldogs at Aurora Stadium.

Hodge earned a maximum of 10 points for an exceptional performance that included 44 disposals (the most of any player this round) and two goals in the Hawks’ 70-point win over the Bulldogs.

Hawks spearhead Jarryd Roughead was awarded 8 votes for an impressive all-around performance in which he scored seven goals, had 28 possessions and took eight marks. Roughead now sits equal second on the Coleman Medal leader board with 11 goals.

Five votes went to defender Grant Birchall who had 30 disposals, took five marks and scored one goal.

Jordan Lewis continued his early season form and was rewarded with three votes for his role in the Hawthorn victory. Lewis had 41 possessions, nine marks and four tackles.

Taylor Duryea and Brian Lake rounded out the voting with two votes each. Brian Lake took a game-high 12 marks, 15 disposals and one tackle while Duryea had 29 disposals and took 11 marks in the convincing victory.
