The Hawks have dominated the coaches votes after a ferocious 60-point win over North Melbourne on Saturday night, with Jack Gunston judged best on ground.

Bagging four goals and a game-high 13 marks, Gunston was handed nine votes by Alastair Clarkson and Brad Scott after a tireless performance up forward in a game played with frenetic pace.

Sam Mitchell’s 33 disposals and six inside 50’s were a class above, with the four-time Peter Crimmins Medalist right behind Gunston in the eyes of the coaches with seven votes.

Five were awarded to Isaac Smith, who continued his good form with 27 disposals at almost 89 per cent efficiency.

Dangerous as ever up forward, Luke Breust’s four goals earned him three votes along with Ben Stratton who was commendable in an under-manned defensive unit, holding Aaron Black goalless.

Brad Hill and Grant Birchall rounded out the coaches votes for Round 5, with Birchall's silky ball movement off half-back a crucial part of the Hawks’ victory.
