A popular display in the Hawks Museum is the list of players who have played 100 games or more for the Hawthorn Football Club. Many former players find their names and photos on the list and reminisce about their playing careers with the Mighty Hawks.

Michael Tuck, of course, heads the table with an amazing tally of 426 senior appearances. There are five Hawks who played at least 300 games: Leigh Matthews played 332 games; Shane Crawford, 305; Chris Langford, 303 games; Don Scott, 302 and Kelvin Moore reached the 300 game milestone.

Several current players are climbing into the higher echelons of the list. One of these players is Shaun Burgoyne. Round 12 saw him become only the second player to play at least 150 games with two League clubs. We are fortunate to see this sublimely skilled player in the Brown & Gold.

A Premiership player with Port Adelaide, Burgoyne arrived at the Hawks having played 157 games and kicking 171 goals with the Power. Since crossing to Hawthorn at the end of the 2009 season, he has been a magnificent contributor and a three-time Premiership player for the Hawks.

Shaun Burgoyne points to his photo on the 100 Games or More List.

We have seen a number of other Premiership heroes reach milestones during the 2016 season. Jordan Lewis brought up his 250th game with a stirring performance in Round 10. Dangerous forward Jack Gunston played his 100th game as a Hawk in Round 11. He becomes the 135th player to reach 100 senior games for the Club and is therefore eligible to join our display!

This year has also seen the debut games of a new generation of Hawthorn players. Marc Pittonet, Kaiden Brand, Keiran Lovell and Kade Stewart have taken wing as fledgling Hawks. They have a journey in front of them before they can join the Hawk heroes on our 100 Games or More list. We look forward to their progress in Brown & Gold.

Visit the Hawks Museum to see if your favourite players are listed on our display.

The Museum is open Monday to Fridays, 9am – 4pm.
