HAWTHORN skipper Luke Hodge will make his long-awaited return for Sunday’s clash with Gold Coast Suns.

Hodge has not played since injuring his knee in Round 6, but has been named on the field in the Hawks’ squad of 25 for the Round 14 match.

After recovering from the injury and completing a ‘mini pre-season’, GM – Football Operations Chris Fagan said the four-time premiership player was ready to go.

“Hodgey has been doing full training for the last five weeks,” Fagan said.

“Physically he’s in really good shape and ready to go.

“He got the tick off from the doctors, physios and fitness staff - so he’s 100 per cent right and looking forward to getting back out there.”

Hodge comes into the side for Cyril Rioli, who will miss due to family reasons.

Brendan Whitecross, Kaiden Brand and Will Langford have also been added to the 25-player squad and named on an extended interchange bench.

Langford and Brand have both featured at AFL level this season, however if Whitecross is selected, it will be his first senior match for 2016.

The final team will be named on Friday afternoon.
