JORDAN Lewis says the Hawks will need to be wary of a Gold Coast Suns’ outfit not lacking in firepower for their clash at Aurora Stadium on Sunday.

The Suns will be fresh from their bye, and Lewis said the Hawks had to respect the Suns and the talent they possess.

“They get some players back (this week) - they’ve had some changes throughout the year and I think they’re becoming a more settled side,” he said.

“If you look across their whole board they’ve got talent and high draft picks and that’s a really dangerous mix if we don’t approach the game in the right manner.

Although the Gold Coast have lost nine consecutive games after winning their opening three, the Suns’ depth of talent is unquestionable, helped by the return of midfielder Aaron Hall and speedy defender Adam Saad.

Key forward Tom Lynch has been a shining light for the Suns this season, sitting third in the Coleman Medal race with 39 goals to his name and also ranking third in the competition for contested marks and marks inside 50.

Lewis says Lynch and a number of other Gold Coast players had the potential to break the game open.

“You’ve got their stars like (Gary) Ablett, Tom Lynch down forward and the support acts around them like Dion Prestia, Matt Rosa is playing well on the wing and three tall forwards who will be hard to stop but we just need to limit their supply so they don’t have an influence,” he said.

Sunday’s game will also see the Hawks turn pink in support of Cancer Council Tasmania, donning a pink adaptation of the traditional Hawthorn guernsey.
