Hawthorn Football Club is pleased to announce the following changes to its Coaching and Football Administration departments for season 2017.

Damian Carroll will move into the role of Head of Coaching and Development and will take on the responsibility for the performance and development of coaching staff including all AFL, Box Hill and development coaches.

Damian was responsible for the Hawks’ midfield group this year, after spending the two previous seasons as Head of Development Academy.

David Rath’s position has been redefined to capture the full range of his expertise in the football department. He will oversee the analytic and IT staff as part of his new role as Head of Football Strategy and Innovation.

Brett Ratten, Adem Yze and Cameron Bruce will all remain as assistant coaches for the 2017 season.

Other changes already made include the appointment of Jason Burt as GM of Football Operations, Marco Bello as Head of Development Academy and Max Bailey as a development coach.

Premiership player Max Bailey will make his return to the club after spending two seasons at Richmond as a development coach.

The following changes have also been made at Box Hill with Chris Newman appointed as Senior Coach, Patrick Hill as Senior Coach of Box Hill's women’s team and Daniel Napoli as General Manager.
