We spoke to Hawthorn’s Elite Performance Manager Andrew Russell, to find out which of our Hawks have stepped up their game heading into the 2017 season.

Name:Teia Miles
Age: 20
Guernsey: 42
Senior games (2016): 0
Senior games (career): 0

A member of the Hawks list for two seasons, Miles is yet to break into the senior side.

That is certainly not through lack of effort; he played out another solid season with the Box Hill Hawks and finished third in the VFL side’s best and fairest award.

While Miles appeared to be on the cusp of AFL selection in the latter half of the season, a broken collar bone hampered his chances.

According to Russell, Miles is doing all the work necessary to stake his claim for selection in 2017, and has seen vast improvement across the board.

“He’s has been working really hard on his running ability, and has really improved this over the course of the pre-season," said Russell.

“He’s also become a lot stronger in the gym.”

If you’re on the hunt for an AFL Fantasy bargain, and the above is anything to go buy, then Miles could be worth a look.

The versatile player has been given dual-position status (MID/FWD), and will set you back a mere $150,000.
