Brisbane coach Chris Fagan has a warning for any team that chooses to take the Hawks lightly: do so at your own peril.

Fagan worked for nine years as the GM- Football Operations at Hawthorn, and he believes the criticism that has been levelled at his old club this week is unfounded.

Hawthorn coach Alastair Clarkson, whose commitment to the club has been questioned, has undergone the bulk of the public scrutiny, a matter that Fagan is quick to deny.

“He’s won four premierships in case anyone has forgotten,” Fagan said.

“All teams go through patches”.

Throughout his nine years at Hawthorn, Fagan never endured a losing streak of four games, but he maintains that a turnaround will not be far away.

“I'm not at Hawthorn so I don't know what's going on, but I do know a lot about that club, and I do know they'll bounce (back) and when they do, everyone better watch out”.
