Hawthorn Senior Coach Alastair Clarkson says if the Hawks are to have any chance of toppling St Kilda, they will need to play the game on their own terms right from the opening bounce.

"If St Kilda are allowed to play the way they want to play, they will cause [some trouble] to any side in the competition," Clarkson said in his pre-match press conference this morning.

"Last week we got a solid contribution [from our players] and we're going to need that again tomorrow. If we've got 10 or 12 players below their best then we probably won't win the game."
