Hawthorn fans may notice this week that the Hawks’ indigenous jumper features an “R” on the chest of the special guernsey.

This “R” represents the movement Recognise, which protects the acknowledgement of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the Australian Constitution and ensures there’s no place in it for racial discrimination.

Recognise aims to raise awareness for the need to end the exclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples from the Australian Constitution.

A quarter of a million Australians from all walks of life have already declared their support to recognise the first Australians in our founding document and to fix the racial discrimination that still exists in it today.
