To make sure you get your Hawthorn fix during bye week, we're counting down our top individual Hawk performances so far in 2017.

Despite Hawthorn posting just four wins at the half way point of the season, there have still been several individual highlights that have sparked hope and excitement amongst Hawks fans.

In at number six....

Ben McEvoy

Round 5

17 possessions, 7 marks (4 contested), 43 hit-outs, 5 tackles, 1 goal

Ben McEvoy has had a stellar season so far this year, with one of his most resounding performances coming in the Hawks’ first win of the year when they overcame the Eagles at the MCG in Round 5.

‘Big Boy’ used his size to his advantage on this April afternoon, dominating the ruck contest, taking a game-high four contested marks while also providing an option around the ground with 17 touches.

The 27-year old also contributed on the scoreboard, adding one goal in what has been a feature of his season, averaging just shy of a goal a game.

McEvoy is one of only seven players to have notched up 400 hit-outs this season, on his way to averaging a career-high 33.3 hit-outs per game.

The former Saint has revelled with being given the extra responsibility in the ruck this year, after the knee injury to Jonathan Ceglar last year.

As well as recording a personal best in hit-outs so far this season, McEvoy is also on track to lay more tackles and kick more goals than he ever has in a season.
