7pm – We’re here at Adelaide Oval.

Yep, again. Exactly three weeks since our last visit.

The nightmares from our horror first half are fewer… but they still pop up from time to time.

Any way, it’s a new week, a new round, and a new opposition.

Only the new opposition is also sitting atop of the ladder.

 17th takes on first.

Stranger things have happened, right?

7.20pm – Opening bounce time. Time to show these first-placed Crows what the unsociable Hawks are made of.

Q1 00:46 – Last time in Adelaide, no goal within the first half.

This time, a goal within the first minute.

Silk, we love you.

Q1 23:30 – A couple of crafty Adelaide goals, before Langers bounces one through traffic to nail his second for the quarter.

QT – Scores are tied at 26 apiece.

No time for late fadeouts this week – let's get down to business.

Q2 01:57 -  Aaaaand a Taylor Walker goal to start the quarter.

HT –
Crows got the jump on us, and with three late goals within minutes, head into the main break with an 18-point-lead.

Looks like it’s going to be one of those nights again, Hawks fans.

Q3 01:46 – T.O! Our favourite (eh hem.. second favourite – the skipper trumps) goal-kicking red hed slots his second to have us back within two kicks.

There’s hope left yet.

Q3: 26:15 – Three consecutive behinds as the Hawks dominate play but struggle to find the middle sticks.

ENTER: Ryan Burton.

The defender collects, weaves through traffic, sells some candy, and then slots a running goal.

Twice.

Thoughts on the Rising Star, anyone?

3QT – Burto’s magic, as well as starring roles from Silk and Hendo, have the Hawks back within a goal.

Strap in Hawks fans, we’re in for a bumpy ride.

Q4 02:03 – HENDO! The milestone man borrows Eddie’s pocket to snap a much-needed goal against his former teammates.

Scores are tied.

Q4 06:57 - Tommy ‘ball magnet’ Mitchell goals!

Hawks are up!

Q4 08:43 - The celebrations are short lived as Andy Otten gets one back.

You can cut the tension with a knife.

Q4 26:00 – Poppy! Hendo! Silk! The trio go bang, bang, bang, to put the Hawks out of range.

Hear that wonderful roar from the Adelaide crowd:

FT – And that’s a wrap. The 17th placed Hawks have knocked off ladder-leaders in emphatic fashion.

Finals off the cards, hey Clarko?

We’re not buying it just yet.

Time to head home, jump on the couch, and listen to Hodgey’s ‘Sounds of the Game’ on repeat for the next nine days.
