The Hawks look set to welcome back defender Ben Stratton for this weekend’s clash against Collingwood.

Stratton has not played since Round 8, after suffering significant bone bruising to his knee in the match against the Brisbane Lions.

At Box Hill, omitted trio James Cousins, Kade Stewart and Brendan Whitecross were all named among the reserve side’s best players.

Whitecross and Cousins were prominent inside Box Hill’s engine room, gathering 28 and 23 disposals respectively in the Hawks’ first loss of the VFL season.

The Hawthorn senior side reported no injuries from their inspiring win over Adelaide, meaning that these players will have to force their names into the selection mix in order to feature against the Pies next Sunday.
