Jarryd Roughead

The football world will come together to celebrate one of the most popular characters in the game’s 250th match this Sunday. A four-time premiership player, Jarryd Roughead has had a tremendous career, full of incredible achievements. The Hawthorn captain will be intent on commemorating the occasion with a win over the Tigers as his side continues an unlikely quest towards an eighth consecutive finals series.

Liam Shiels

Liam Shiels quietly went about compiling one of the best games of his season last Friday night against the Swans. The vice-captain finished with team-highs of 28 touches, five clearances and seven inside 50s. This week against the Tigers, the Hawks will need a similar performance from the 26-year old as they look to quell a midfield full of star-power.

Ben McEvoy

Another of the Hawks’ best players in the win over the Swans, Ben McEvoy faces an all-important ruck duel against an in-form Tiger Toby Nankervis. McEvoy was highly influential last Friday night with 16 disposals, eight marks and 23 hit-outs. While Nankervis is also coming off a strong game in which he kicked a career-high three goals. This match-up will be pivotal, as whichever ruckman can give his midfielders first use at the source, will help his side go a long way toward winning this massive clash.

Bachar Houli

Returning for his first game after a four-week suspension, Bachar Houli immediately returned to his best in Richmond’s victory over the Gold Coast on Saturday night. Before his month off, Houli was enjoying one of the strongest runs of his career, averaging 28.5 disposals over a four-week period. Houli is the Tigers’ best ball-user off half-back and will be one the Hawks will have to keep a close eye on if they are to halt Richmond’s momentum.

Daniel Rioli

Daniel Rioli heads up a young and dangerous small forward mix that has caused many headaches for opposition sides this season. The 20-year old kicked a career-high three goals and gathered a new personal high of 16 possessions last week. Despite not recording massive numbers this season, he stands as one to watch for this promising Tiger attack.
