Luke Hodge will enter Hawthorn’s top five all-time games list when he runs out against North Melbourne at UTAS Stadium this Sunday.

Set to play game number 303, Hodge will pass Team of the Century ruckman Don Scott’s 302 games and match another Team of the Century member Chris Langford’s games tally in fifth place.

If Hodge plays each of the Hawks’ final three games of the season, he will draw even with Shane Crawford’s 305 games in fourth position for most games played in the brown and gold.

This would leave just Michael Tuck (426 games), Leigh Matthews (332) and Sam Mitchell (307) ahead of Hodge’s final games count.

Hodge announced his intention to retire at season’s close in July, calling an end to one of the most decorated careers in club history.

Hodge has won four premierships, two Norm Smith Medals, three All Australian honours, two Peter Crimmins Medals and captained the club for six years between 2011 and 2016.

His entry into the club’s top five most games played simply solidifies his standing as one of Hawthorn’s greatest players of all time.
