With school holidays upon us this week, it’s the perfect time to come in and take a trip down memory lane at the Hawks Museum.

With its vast collection of memorabilia, media and historical documents, the museum tells a rich and detailed story of the Hawthorn Football Club and its players past and present.

Recently, the Hawks Museum was valued as one of the best historical display for an Australian sporting club by one of Melbourne’s best known valuers in collectables and sporting memorabilia.

The valuation took into account the prices similar items have achieved recently in the open market, the amount of prospective collectors in the market for the items and the provenance, rarity, desirability and condition of each item in the museum.

The Hawks Museum continues to grow, with new memorabilia recently added to honour the careers of retiring greats Luke Hodge, Josh Gibson and former Hawk Sam Mitchell.

The new items on display include the Guernsey Hodge wore in his 300th game and a match day football donated by the Geelong Football Club representing Alastair Clarkson’s 300th game as Coach

The Museum is located at Waverley Park, and is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary at the venue in December.

You can visit the Hawks Museum from Monday – Friday between 9am and 4pm.
