Finals Face Off #15 sees the introduction of our Wildcard Round, as we pin a seasoned campaigner and a new addition against each other.

Stuart Dew richly deserves his place, having beaten the likes of Jason Dunstall, Will Langford and Dermott Brereton to make it this far. And we’re certainly not complaining; we could watch those five minutes from 2008 on repeat for days on end.

But today he faces a new challenge. The brown and gold army have spoken, and it seems Lake’s smother from the 2015 grand final is a favourite around the grounds.

The Hawks already had a comfortable 60-point lead in the fourth quarter, so it would be understandable if the boys had gone into standby mode.

However, standby is not a mode our ‘Lakey’ is accustomed to.

As West Coast’s Josh Hill strolled into a seemingly open goal, the Hawthorn full back dived and managed to land a fingertip on the Sherrin, saving a certain goal.

The impressive effort invited a wry smile from his former teammate in Hill, and a cheerful giggle in the coaching box from an entertained Clarkson.

So, who will make it to the big dance, Dewie or Lakey?

It’s time to vote.
