Box Hill has added two experienced heads to its VFLW coaching line up, with David Carden and Brett Alexander jumping on board for the 2018 season.

The pair will assist Senior Coach Patrick Hill as they lead the Box Hill women’s side into its second season in the competition.

Carden joins the club following a year as an assistant coach for the Eastern Ranges’ inaugural women’s TAC Cup side, while Alexander, a former Dandenong Stingrays official, has spent the last two seasons as senior coach of the Seaford Tigerettes.

Coach Hill says both of the new appointments will offer a varied skill set to the club.

“We were really impressed by [Carden’s] enthusiasm and organisation,” said Hill.

“He’s someone I identified early on as being really good for our program.

“[Alexander]’s spent a long time in women’s footy working at both school and a couple of years at Seaford as a VFL coach.

“He was organising seventy or eighty girls on the track and his ability to manage that with his work running the women’s academy made him a really strong candidate.”

Box Hill is currently finalising its 2018 VFLW list, before pre-season training commences in late November.
