Hawthorn has selected athletic forward/wingman Jackson Ross with Pick 71 in the 2017 NAB AFL Draft.

Ross, who compares his game to that of Adelaide Crows forward Tom Lynch, kicked 16 goals and averaged 17.6 disposals in 10 appearances for TAC Cup side Eastern Rangers, including two bags of five.

A former junior tennis talent, Ross scored a perfect 30 in the goalkicking test and 29/30 in the kicking test at this year’s draft combine.

At 193cm and 77kgs, the Haileybury College student boasts strong endurance for his size as well as a long kick on both sides of his body.

Ross rounds out Hawthorn's trio of draftees in the 2017 National Draft, with Hawthorn having passed on their final two picks.
