Here at Hawthorn, we understand that AFL is a team game. Each player, coach and official is but a cog in the wheel of a well-oiled machine, chugging towards success.

But over the next 11 days, we’re forgetting about the team achievements and throwing the spotlight on individuals.

Here’s the question; which Hawk has the most impressive trophy case of all time?

Each accolade has been given a weighting (see bottom of page), and the numbers have been crunched to see who comes out on top.

Follow along each day on hawthornfc.com.au, as we slowly reveal Hawthorn’s Ultimate Trophy Cabinet.

The Hawks’ longest serving captain, Arthur earns 18 points for his nine-year reign as skipper of the club between 1960 and 1968. In that time, Arthur led Hawthorn to their first premiership in 1961. The talented half-forward’s other playing accolades include three best and fairest awards that set him amongst only seven other Hawks to have won the award on at least three occasions.

But Arthur’s true boost to his points tally came up after his career, having been inducted into the AFL’s Hall of Fame, earning Legend status for the Hawthorn Hall of Fame and being named as the captain of the Hawks’ Team of the Century, earning him a combined 56 points.

Points:

232 games (6 points)
AFL Hall of Fame (20 points)
Hawthorn Hall of Fame Legend Status (25 points)
Hawthorn Team of the Century member (11 points)
