Having been at the club for the best part of two months now, our 2017 draftees are starting to adjust to life as an AFL footballer.

Hawthornfc.com.au caught up with each of our first years to see how they're travelling and to ask all the hard questions.

Here's Changkuoth Jiath's take.

Catch up: Q+A with Jackson Ross

FOOTY

How have you found pre-season so far?

Yeh, I’m really enjoying it so far. The Club has looked after us really well in our early days so it’s been good.

Where are you looking to play this year?

I’m looking at that half-forward role mainly.

Strengths as a player?

I think my running patterns as a forward and also my pace.

Areas that you are looking to improve this pre-season?

I’m trying to work on my running patterns this year. I’ve been watching a lot of Jack Gunston to see how he goes about it.

Goals for the year?

I haven’t set much in the way of goals this season. I just want to focus on doing a lot of extras before and after training to get some improvement.

Someone at training you've tried to follow around?

Yeh, I like to follow around Gunston a bit. He is obviously really talented in the position that I also play.

Best advice/instruction you've had since arriving at the club?

I think the main thing has been to train really hard but don’t put too much pressure on yourself early.

How have you found Alastair Clarkson so far?

He is a ripper bloke. He can be tough when he wants to and I reckon he is a genius!

OUTSIDE OF FOOTY

Living circumstances: Are you still living at home/ who are you living with- how are you finding Melbourne?

I’m living with a host family in Hampton. It’s good, it takes me about 20 minutes to get into the club each morning.

Any nicknames Hawks fans should be aware of?

Just CJ at the moment. I haven’t really had many others since being at the club.

Do you have a celebrity crush?

Rihanna and Margot Robbie would probably be my two choices.

What are your hobbies outside of footy?

I’m a laidback guy, when there is no footy I like to just hang out at home or maybe go shopping or go to the beach.

What is your biggest fear?

Snakes. I am very scared of snakes.

What would you be doing if you didn’t get drafted?

I would probably be studying health science or exercise science this year.

If you were a superhero, what would your name and superpower be?

My superpower would be to be able teleport from one place to another and maybe my name could be Flash.
