Hawthorn's first pre-season hit out was a success in terms of injury, with all players reportedly pulling up well following the clash.

"There were no issues to speak of, which is good," said Director of High Performance Andrew Russell.

"The game time was about 108 minutes which is a little bit less than a real AFL game, so their energy was good today and they've recovered well."

Senior Hawk James Frawley could return as early as this weekend, having recovered from a toe injury that prematurely ended his 2017 campaign.

"James is a really good chance to play," said Russell.

"He trained fully today and will be a test on Thursday.

"He's had a couple of areas of tightness over the last few weeks, but he's looking pretty good and I expect to see him out there this week."
