Hawthorn has announced its 26-man squad ahead of Saturday’s JLT clash, with a big-name Hawk set to make his awaited return.

Premiership defender James Frawley will line up against the Blues, having recovered from the toe injury that forced a premature end to his 2017 campaign.

“We’re thrilled to have James back to full fitness,” said GM-Football Graham Wright.

“He’s an important cog in our defence and we missed him in the latter half of last season.

“Obviously, being JLT, we will take a cautious approach, but he’s trained really well and will hopefully benefit from some game time before the home and away season kicks off.”

James Frawley and Conor Glass are the Hawks’ sole inclusions for Saturday’s pre-season clash, with the club only making two changes to last week’s team that faced the Bulldogs.

Hawks Vice-Captain Liam Shiels will travel to Tassie for the club’s Community Camp, however will miss Saturday’s match.

“We have decided to not risk Liam this week after he pulled up sore from Tuesday’s training session. We will build up his match fitness over the next two weeks and expect him to be fit for Round 1,” Wright said.

David Mirra will also be an omission from last week’s team as he is set to tie the knot with long term partner Rachel on the weekend.

The Hawks will centre their annual Community Camp around the JLT hit out, with players set to visit schools across Tasmania from Thursday through to Sunday.
