Henderson has gone under the knife for the third time since last season, an arthroscope on his knee on Tuesday. Forward Gregson has escaped damage to his navicular bone that kept him out for 18 months, his injury against St Kilda diagnosed as a midfoot sprain. Ablett ran on Sunday as he ramps up his return from a hamstring, while Taylor walked laps on Tuesday after his plantar fascia sustained in round one. Black, who has been training as a defender, was sent for shoulder scans on Monday. After a long history with injury, the Cats expect McCarthy's return to the VFL within the next fortnight. - Mitch Cleary

Cyril Rioli Medial ligament 5-6 weeks
 Ryan Schoenmakers Achilles Available
Updated: Tuesday, April 17

Early prognosis

Puopolo and Rioli won’t play for a while, although Puopolo’s injury looked even worse at the time. Schoenmakers shapes as an important inclusion, while the good news story is that Ceglar will be back for the first time in 20 months this weekend. Burgoyne’s return in a week offsets the Rioli and Puopolo absences to a degree. It was a fair effort by Frawley to come back late in the game after a migraine. - Ashley Browne

RICHMOND

Player

Injury

Estimated Return

 Jack Graham Suspension Round six
 Ben Griffiths Retired
 Daniel Rioli  Foot TBC
Updated: Tuesday, April 17

This is an embarrassingly short injury list for the premiers. Graham will miss this week after being suspended for striking Dayne Zorko, but Rioli is their only unavailable player due to injury and even he is moving closer to playing at VFL level after a lengthy recovery from the foot he broke during the Grand Final. There still isn't an official date set for his return to the field, but insiders are cautiously hopeful he'll play VFL in the next 2-3 weeks. Dion Prestia returned from his hamstring/glute issues against Brisbane and has pulled up well. He's expected to be available for Anzac Day Eve, while Nathan Broad remains in contention after his club suspension finished in round three. - Jennifer Phelan

 Darren Minchington Knee 5-7 weeks
 Dylan Roberton Heart Indefinite
 Koby Stevens Concussion Indefinite
 Jimmy Webster Hip Test
Updated: Tuesday, April 17

Early prognosis

Roberton could be out for a while after suffering an irregular heartbeat against Geelong last Sunday. He's hopeful of returning to training next week but his coach Alan Richardson isn't as optimistic, with a no-risk approach to be taken. Membrey trained fully on Tuesday and the Saints are optimistic he will be fit to face Greater Western Sydney while Webster will be back either this week or next week. Stevens will be out for a while as he deals with delayed onset concussion. - Dinny Navaratnam

Early prognosis

The Eagles have confirmed Venables will be out for up to three months and now they are sweating on Shuey, Redden and Sheppard's fitness for the trip to take on Carlton at the MCG. Shuey failed to train on Monday, while Redden and Sheppard, who has copped hits to the same quad in consecutive weeks, did little more than stationary handball work. Ah Chee and Allen (shin) are expected to play at East Perth but big man Vardymight be another week away. - Travis King

Former Lion Schache (ankle) could also be available but is very likely to play at VFL level again. Running defender Lynch's horror run with hamstring injuries has continued, with the West Australian to miss up to nine weeks with his latest mishap. – Ryan Davidson
