Hawthorn has added five names to its Round 9 squad set to face the Lions, with debutant Mitch Lewis headlining the inclusions.

Paul Puopolo, David Mirra, James Worpel and James Cousins are also a chance to play, having been named on the extended bench.

The Hawks’ engine room will be without Jaeger O’Meara however, with the midfielder unable to prove his fitness in time after sustaining a corked calf in Friday night’s match.

“Jaeger received a cork late in the match and was unable to finish the game,” GM-Football Graham Wright said.

“He pulled up quite sore and didn’t train fully this week.

“We gave him every opportunity to prove his fitness, but unfortunately his calf still isn’t 100 percent so we’ve decided to take a cautious approach.

“On a positive note, we do have another debutant this week in Mitch Lewis.

“He’s had a great start to the year with Box Hill and thoroughly deserves an AFL opportunity.

“We’re looking forward to seeing what he can bring come Sunday.”

The Hawks will travel to Brisbane on Saturday morning, ahead of the Sunday afternoon clash.

The game marks just the second time the Hawks have played at the Gabba in the past 10 years, with their last visit a 48-point win in 2016.
