After both enjoying a week’s rest with a bye, Hawthorn’s VFLW women and Box Hill’s VFL men will return with a big double header this Sunday in Fight MND Round.

The Hawks’ women will kick things off against the Southern Saints at 11.30am. The hit out looms as a tight contest, with both wins heading in with a 3-1 record.

Hawthorn will unveil Sarah McNamara and Ellie MacDonald for their brown and gold debuts.

“We’ve got a couple of injuries so it gives us an opportunity to blood some new players,” VFLW Football Operations Manager Briana Harvey said.

“It just shows the depth we’ve got in our team.” 

The women will be wearing blue socks to show their support for Fight MND Round. 

The Box Hill men will then host Frankston at 2pm as they look to return to the winner’s list.

Youngster Dylan Moore looks set to return to the VFL stage after recovering from a shoulder injury. 

He could be joined by as many as 18 other listed Hawks, with the likes of Tim O’Brien, Ryan Schoenmakers, Brendan Whitecross and James Cousins set to feature in Chris Newman’s team.

Mackenzie Doreian is also preparing to make his VFL debut after being named 23rd man.

The men will be wearing white Fight MND socks to show their support for the round.
