Ben McEvoy will make his AFL return this Saturday night, having been named in Hawthorn’s Round 22 side set to face the Saints.

McEvoy had been sidelined for five weeks since suffering a fractured cheekbone against the Bulldogs in Round 16.

The ruckman is one of two inclusions, with Conor Glass also recalled to play his fourth senior game of the season.

Fellow Irishman Conor Nash has held his place in the side following a solid debut last week, meaning the Hawks will field two Irishman in their starting 22 for the first time in club history.

The Hawks will be without in-form duo Jonathon Ceglar (corked calf) and Ricky Henderson (hip) however, with neither able to prove their fitness in time for team selection.

“Cegs and Hendo had both been in good form of late, so it’s disappointing to lose them this week,” GM-Football Graham Wright said.

“Both injuries are only minor, but unfortunately they’re just not 100 per cent so neither will play this week.

“The good news is that we’ve got McEvoy coming back in, so he’ll split the ruck duties with Marc Pittonet.

“Conor Glass has also been performing well for Box Hill in recent weeks, so we’re looking forward to seeing him take his opportunity.”
