As the excitement builds for season 2019, we've taken a look at the best five games of new recruit Tom Scully's career to date.

Round 7 2010

Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs

39 disposals, five tackles, six inside 50s, six rebound 50s, seven clearances, one goal

In just the seventh game of his career, Scully was clearly the most influential player on the ground. Game-highs in disposals, inside 50s, rebound 50s and clearances, the 18-year-old Scully also booted a goal as his complete performance was justly rewarded with three Brownlow votes. Unfortunately, the new number one draft pick’s efforts were not enough to get his side over the line as the Demons fell to the Dogs by a slender four-point margin.

Round 3 2012

GWS vs West Coast

30 disposals, 27 uncontested possessions, six rebound 50s, five bounces

Despite his side losing by 81 points to the Eagles, Scully never gave up and ran hard all day in his third outing for the Giants. His work ethic was exemplified by his five bounces and 27 uncontested possessions, a career-high on a trying day for the fledgling club in just their third game in the AFL.

Round 19 2016

GWS vs Richmond

30 disposals, five marks, seven inside 50s, three clearances, two goals

In a year in which Scully began to emerge as one of the truly elite outside midfielders, this performance in Round 19 was the highlight. His work forward of centre was the key feature of his day as he recorded seven inside 50s and booted two majors for the Giants in their 88-point drubbing over the Tigers.

Round 4 2017

GWS vs Port Adelaide

32 disposals, eight marks, seven clearances, six inside 50s

Scully started 2017 on fire averaging 25.5 touches, 5.4 marks and 5.2 inside 50s per game through the first month. This effort in Round 4 though was the pick of the bunch as the midfielder helped propel his side over the line against the Power by 31 points. His inside 50 and clearance numbers were both game-highs, with the 25-year old a big reason for Toby Greene and Jon Patton kicking ten goals between them.

Round 7 2017

GWS vs St Kilda

30 disposals, six marks, four rebound 50s, four inside 50s, two goals

Scully hit the scoreboard in 10 of his outings in 2017, booting multiple goals in four games. But this was the best of the lot as he added 30 possessions to his two goals. It was a typical game from Scully, well balanced with four defensive 50 exits and four forward 50 entries. Despite playing on the losing side, Scully’s performance earned him two Brownlow votes.
