BRAGGING rights will be up for grabs when the 2015-16 Barclays Premier League (BPL) season gets underway on Saturday night.

A number of Hawks players – including passionate Tottenham fan Sam Mitchell – will again feature in the Hawthorn Football Club Official Fans League.

It’s free to sign up to create your own Fantasy team – you can do so by clicking here.

Mitchell’s Spurs will kick off the season on Saturday night against Manchester United – while the Hawks are taking on the Eagles at Domain Stadium – and he’s tipping this year’s Fantasy competition will be hotly contested.

“Hopefully we can get over the Red Devils early – but our game will be on at the same time, so I won't able to see it unfortunately,” he said.

“A fair few of us have a bit riding on the Fantasy league – we have a good time with it and there’s bragging rights up for grabs.

“David Hale thought he was a champion until the last couple of years, when I’ve been able to knock him off.

"I was first and he was second last year, so hopefully a few Hawks fans will jump on board again this year.”

According to Mitchell, there’s strong support for Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham amongst the Hawthorn playing group, but not much love for Manchester United or Manchester City.

He’s hoping Tottenham can place top four – but anticipates it will be Chelsea and Arsenal vying for the title.

“I think the team to beat will still be Chelsea, but I’d expect Arsenal to have a pretty good season – their squad looks pretty strong at the moment and I think they will be the ones to rise.”
