HAWTHORN has received picks 15 and 54 from North Melbourne in exchange for Jed Anderson and picks 38 and 40.

Pick 40 is the end of second round compensation pick that Hawthorn received for unrestricted free agent Matthew Suckling.

Recruiting and List Manager Graham Wright said the club was pleased it had been able to arrange a trade for Anderson.

“Jed has made a fantastic contribution to our football club and we wish him and his young family all the best,” Wright said.

“While we are disappointed to lose Jed we are pleased with the outcome of the trade and have improved our draft position significantly, now holding two picks inside the top 20.”

The 21-year-old midfielder-forward has played 10 AFL matches since joining the Hawks at the end of 2012.

He played four senior matches in 2015.
