FORMER Hawthorn champion Dermott Brereton will be one of a number of football personalities taking part in the Big Freeze At The 'G on Monday.

The Big Freeze at the 'G is a major fundraising campaign spearheaded by Neale Daniher and the Cure for MND Foundation, to raise funds to help find a cure for Motor Neurone Disease.

Daniher, who played 82 matches for Essendon and coached Melbourne for 10 seasons, was diagnosed with MND in 2013 and is still battling the disease.

More than $500,000 has already been donated to help freeze MND.

The Big Freeze at the G will take place at the MCG just prior to the Queen’s Birthday clash between Melbourne and Collingwood.

Brereton will be one of at least 10 football personalities involved – with other big names including Tim Watson, Garry Lyon, Mark Robinson, Samantha Lane and comedian Peter Helliar as his alter-ego Bryan Strauchan.

A toboggan run will be constructed in the MCG’s Ponsford Stand race, with a giant ice bath located at the end.

The football personalities involved have each helped to raise $10,000 or more for the cause.

On the day, Melbourne will host the ‘AHG Walk to the 'G,’ which will be led by Daniher and start at Federation Square. Collingwood will host a similar walk starting at the Westpac Centre.

You can get involved and support the cause by making a donation to help freeze MND.
