The Hawks have added five names to its extended squad set to face the Dockers this Sunday, with Shaun Burgoyne headlining the inclusions.

Burgoyne suffered a hamstring injury in Round 14, since missing four matches.

GM-Football Graham Wright says the veteran’s return is important for the playing group as the club looks to firm its finals position.

“Shaun is such a valuable player for the club and has been for a long time,” Wright said.

“He adds a lot of versatility to the group with his ability to play all over the ground.

“We’ve taken a bit of a cautious approach with his return, as we wanted to ensure he’s 100 per cent fit.”

Jaeger O’Meara is another big inclusion after being a late withdrawal from Hawthorn’s Round 18 win due to a hip complaint.

Meanwhile, Irishman Conor Nash is a chance to make his AFL debut having been named on the Hawks’ extended bench. Nash was elevated to the Hawks’ senior list last week, after being drafted as a category B rookie in 2016.

Taylor Duryea and Mitch Lewis have also been recalled to the squad, while Dan Howe will miss after being suspended for the remainder of the season.

The Hawks will head to Perth on Saturday morning, ready for Sunday’s twilight hit out at Optus Stadium.
