Mitchell Lewis played 13 games for Box Hill in his first year at the Hawks.

Lewis showed an ability to play in all areas of the ground, kicking ten goals as a forward, while also proving a capable defender and ruckman through parts of the year.

The 18-year old’s season was cut short after he injured his shoulder and required a shoulder reconstruction.

The Gippsland Power product will now focus on getting his recovery right ahead of his first full preseason.

A word from: Adem Yze

“Mitch showed some good signs and, similarly to a couple of other key position players, he showed a flexibility to be able to go down back. He showed some great signs of being able to fit into our system. To have the flexibility of being able to play as a key defender or forward is a massive feather in his cap.

“It was very unlucky that he hurt his shoulder in the middle part of the year and needed a shoulder reconstruction for that. So, his focus is recovering from that but he should be right for preseason.

“He’s the type of kid that, if he can fill into his body, he’ll have some x-factor about him and we’re really looking forward to what he can produce. So, he has a big preseason ahead to try to earn some senior games next year.”
