Hawthorn Football Club can confirm Cameron Bruce will depart the club at season’s end to take up the role of senior assistant coach at Carlton Football Club.

Bruce was originally appointed in the role of development coach in 2012 before taking on the role of assistant coach in 2013.

Bruce played a total of 10 games for Hawthorn after being picked up by the club in 2011 pre-season draft, following a 224 game career with Melbourne.

In farewelling Bruce, Senior Coach Alastair Clarkson thanked him for his contribution to the club.

“In his time at Hawthorn, Cameron has displayed a fantastic ability to build strong relationships and develop players,” said Clarkson.

“We would like to thank him for his contribution to Hawthorn Football Club and wish Cam and his wife Julia, and their children Holly, Ben and Abbey all the best.”

Bruce will commence his role with Carlton for the start of their upcoming preseason campaign.
