Alastair Clarkson has confirmed the injury that will keep Jaeger O'Meara out of the Hawks' Round 4 clash is not related to his the knee issues that have halted his career in the past.

"He's just got a knock to the knee, and we were hoping it would settle down," said Clarko.

"He had a scan earlier in the week and we thought it was going to be okay, but then he didn't progress over the next three days."

"From what we can gather it's got nothing to do with [his previous injury].

"Although it is a knock to the same knee that has been sore previously, we don't think it's anything related so hopefully that will settle down over the next week and he'll play next week."
