An incident between Shaun Burgoyne and Sydney’s Sam Reid during the second quarter of Friday night's match has been assessed by the Match Review Panel and dismissed without penalty.

The panel said Reid had the ball and was trying to break clear from a group of players. The Sydney player came towards Burgoyne, who tackled Reid immediately. Burgoyne lost his feet in the tackle while Reid sought to dispose of the ball as he was taken to ground. While Burgoyne was falling, he used Reid’s momentum to take him to ground and the panel said there was no sling motion or double-action in his tackle.

Reid was not rotated or driven with excessive force into the ground and it was the view of the panel no further action was required.
