Ben McEvoy is set to play his 150th AFL game when the Hawks take on the Cats on Easter Monday.

Picked up by St Kilda with the ninth selection in the 2007 national draft, McEvoy spent five seasons and played 91 games at the Saints before being traded to the Hawks at the end of 2013.

Standing at 200cm tall, ‘Big Boy’ quickly assumed the post of number one ruckman following Max Bailey’s retirement. He was a central contributor in Hawthorn’s ’14 and ‘15 final series, earning himself two premiership medallions in as many years.

Arguably McEvoy’s best game in the brown and gold came in Round 6, 2014, when Hawthorn defeated the Tigers by 66 points. The ruckman was pivotal on that Sunday at the ‘G, managing 22 disposals (including a career-high 14 contested), six tackles, 22 hit outs and a goal.

McEvoy currently has a 66 per cent winning record at Hawthorn, and will be looking to boost this percentage when the Hawks face Geelong in his milestone match on Monday.
