Hawthorn has added four names to an extended 25-man squad ahead of Sunday’s clash with the Gold Coast.

James Sicily, Kaiden Brand, Brendan Whitecross and Billy Hartung all come into the squad, while Grant Birchall will miss the game after sustaining a fractured jaw in Round 2.

After being omitted from the team ahead of last week’s clash with Adelaide, Hartung and Sicily rebounded with impressive VFL outings, collecting 30 and 26 disposals respectively.

Having recovered from a broken thumb sustained during the pre-season, Brand was pivotal in Box Hill’s defence, taking several intercept marks and managing 17 disposals.

Whitecross, who was the carry-over emergency last weekend, will also be looking to break into the game for his first senior game of the season.

The 25-man squad will be cut to the final team of 22 at 4.30pm Friday.
