HAWTHORN looks set to make at least two changes for Saturday’s clash with Melbourne.

Star small forwards Cyril Rioli and Paul Puopolo are all but certain inclusions after missing last week’s win against Carlton in Launceston.

Rioli was a late withdrawal due to general soreness, while a corked hip saw Puopolo ruled out at team selection on Thursday night.

Will Langford and debutant Blake Hardwick came into the side to replace Puopolo and Rioli, and both had an impact, but the Hawks could opt for a role-reversal at the selection table this week.

In-and-under midfielder Liam Shiels has been rated a 50-50 chance to overcome a hamstring injury for the clash, while Daniel Howe has recovered from a calf injury and will be available for selection.

At VFL level, a number of players put their hand up for a senior berth.

Could Alex Woodward be in the mix after just two senior VFL games this season?

Woodward racked up 32 disposals and 10 clearances for Box Hill Hawks against Footscray on Saturday, after collecting 25 disposals the week before.

However, he would need to be upgraded to the senior list before being considered eligible for senior selection.

First-year midfielder Kieran Lovell (31 disposals) also impressed for Box Hill on the weekend, continuing his push for an AFL recall, while Kurt Heatherley (14 disposals, seven marks) did his chances of an AFL debut no harm with another strong defensive performance.

Kade Stewart (19 disposals, seven tackles) - if re-upgraded from the rookie list - and Angus Litherland (15 disposals, six rebound 50s) also kept their names in the frame for senior selection with solid showings.
