SYDNEY Swans are likely to regain Josh Kennedy and Ben McGlynn for Friday night’s clash with Hawthorn at the MCG.

Kennedy and McGlynn missed the Swans’ after-the-siren loss to Richmond last week, but Swans GM - Football Operations Tom Harley said both were a strong chance to play the Hawks.

“Josh Kennedy trained last Thursday – we trained in a night session leading into the game against Richmond – and he had some hamstring tightness,” Harley told sydneyswans.com.au on Tuesday.

“He’s symptom free at the moment so he’s available this week, which is great news.

“Ben McGlynn had a cork on a cork, a very serious one, and we’ve had to treat that with a lot of respect.

“He didn’t play last week and we certainly hope he’s available for selection this week – all things being equal he will be.”

Kennedy’s return would be a welcome boost to the Swans’ midfield, which had a rare quite night against the Tigers, according to coach John Longmire

"They're normally a pretty consistent crew," Longmire said on Monday.

"We normally get a bit more consistency across that whole midfield group and particularly with Josh (Kennedy) not being there we really needed that, and didn't quite get it.

"We're really confident they'll be right and they'll bounce back.”

Recent form

The Swans have been one of the competition’s form sides, and sit fourth on the ladder with a 6-2 record. Prior to their loss to Richmond, the Swans enjoyed wins against Essendon, Brisbane Lions and West Coast Eagles.

Key players

Star forward Lance Franklin has been dominant in 2016, kicking 34 goals in eight matches. In the midfield, Kennedy, Dan Hannebery, Luke Parker and Tom Mitchell have been equally consistent, each averaging more than 27 disposals per game.

Potential changes

With the possible returns of Kennedy and McGlynn, two changes could be on the cards, while Toby Nankervis (six goals) and Nic Newman were dominant in the NEAFL.
