HAWTHORN players Isaac Smith, Paul Puopolo, Bradley Hill and Daniel Howe have each accepted $1000 sanctions from the AFL Match Review Panel.

Puopolo and Hill were charged with being engaged in a melee in the first quarter, Smith was charged with wrestling Michael Firrito in the first quarter, and Howe was charged with striking Drew Petrie in the second quarter.

All four incidents were classified as $1,500 sanctions, but were able to be reduced to $1000 with an early guilty plea.

Three North Melbourne players – Firrito, Jack Ziebell and Daniel Wells – were also offered and have accepted $1,000 sanctions, the former for wrestling, and the latter two for being involved in a melee.
